· pedres daurades · gilded stones ·

Materials:
   · Pedres

· Deixeu assecar completament (nosaltres vam esperar 24h).

Algunes recomanacions:
· Treballeu en una àrea ben ventilada.
· Protegiu la superfície de treball.

Us desitgem una experiència daurada!

We love to explore new ways to decorate stones. Today we suggest you a delicate and resplendent process! This creative process consists on covering the stones with gold leaf (we used imitation gold leaf). The gilding process is simple and beautiful, but requires a little bit of patience...

Art supplies:
   · Stones
   · Gilding mixtion
   · Gold, silver o copper leaf
   · Varnish (optional)
   · Brushes, vases and turpentine (to clean the brushes)
   · Sharp knife and a padded surface, or a shape lever punch (optional)
   · Permanent markers

Process:
· Apply the mixtion with a brush over the stones creating the motifs you want to get covered with the gold leaf.
· Let the mixtion dry according to the recommended time (in our case it was about 10 minutes and 4 hours, we waited about one hour).
· Apply the gold leaf carefully and covering all the surface. Remove the exceeding by rubbing carefully with a cloth or a cotton pad. You can also cut the gold leaf with a sharp knife (it is recommended not to cut it by dragging, but applying perpendicular pressure over a padded surface) or placing it between two sheets of paper and using a lever punch.
· Let it dry completely (we let it dry for 24 h).
· Once it's dry, you can draw motifs on the piece using permanent markers.
· You can varnish the piece. If you use imitation of gold leaf you'll prevent it from blackening. We did not varnished the stones because we wanted being able of touching the raw stone and exploring the contrast between the stone and the fine touch of gold leaf.

A few reccomendations:
· Work in a well-ventilated area.
· Protect the working surface.

We wish you have a golden experience!
